Adopt a Horse
Interested in adopting one of our horses? The first step is to come and meet the horses. Please contact us about setting up a time to come for a visit. We strongly encourage potential adopters to volunteer some of their time to spend and work with the horse, to make sure the horse is right for them. We make an effort to be certain that the match is best for both horse and adopter. All adoptions are subject to the discretion of the Board President of Serenity Horse Rescue. We will not adopt out a horse sight unseen and may request a site visit prior to the adoption. Who can adopt: Potential adopters must have experience in the handling and care of horses and be able to provide a safe environment for the horse, such as a stabling facility or your own barn. SHR also requires that when picking up an adopted horse, the horse trailer must be sound and road safe. SHR will not permit a horse to be loaded into a trailer that does not meet these safety standards. Adoption fees vary according to the individual horse’s needs cost of care, breed and abilities. Horses are adopted with the understanding that they are rescues and may need special care. All adoption fees are non-refundable Contact Serenity Adoptions for more information or adoption inquiries.
