Sanctuary
Equines in our Sanctuary program are not ready for adoption, however they may be sponsored. All new arrivals start in this stage. We assess their health, temperament, training, etc. After an initial assessment is made, the equine is given a plan to address any health or temperament concerns. Equines often arrive underweight and in need of learning how to trust again.
Equines in the Sanctuary program are frequently re-evaluated to monitor their progress. Most are eventually able to progress to the Adoptable stage, however some equine, due to age or health, may be deemed permanent Sanctuary residents.
Ace
Breed: Quarter Horse

Bio: Ace came to Serenity by owner release with Strato in December 2008. He is in good health and up-to-date on all shots. Ace is currently in our riding lesson program working with beginner riders. He has a very sweet temperament and loves to be loved on! Ace is not available for adoption, but is looking for a sponsor so that he can live out the rest of his life at Serenity.
Brogy
Breed: Thoroughbred, 17+h
Sex: Gelding

Color/Markings: Black w/white star
Bio: Brogy came to Serenity by owner release at the end of June, 2010. He was raced until November of 2009. Brogy is a very sweet and well behaved boy who is adjusted to life away from the track. He would love to have a sponsor.
Charm

Bio: Charm is a sweet mare who is very gentle and layed back. She would make a wonderful hunter jumper.
Cisco
Breed: Arabian, 15.1h

Bio: Cisco came to Serenity in October 2009 to be placed in our sanctuary program. He was extremely thin upon arrival, and although still much underweight, he is gaining weight daily! He will remain unavailable for adoption until he reaches his ideal weight, but would greatly appreciate a sponsor until he is ready for his new home.
Dusty

Bio: Dusty came to Serenity by owner release in the summer of 2010. He is a very sweet and friendly boy who loves to be brushed. Dusty will live out his remaining days enjoying the new friends he has made at Serenity.
Dynamite

Bio: Dynamite is a sweet young horse who is not yet broken. He would love a sponsor.
Festus

Bio: Festus came to Serenity by owner release in the summer of 2010. He is not yet broken. Festus can be a bit timid but he is slowly learning to trust the people around him. He would love a sponsor to help him along until he is ready to find his forever home.
Foxy

Bio: Foxy arrived at Serenity in August 2009 by owner release. When Foxy arrived, she was emaciated and nervous. Since her arrival, Foxy has begun to put on weight at a wonderful rate. She has settled down, too, and is no longer such a nervous girl. Foxy is now looking for that wonderful family to join!
Jasmin

Bio: Jasmin was rescued by Serenity from a life of uncertainty. When she arrived, she was severely underweight and extremely distrusting. Since then, Jasmin has blossomed to a healthy young mare, though she still has occasional trust issues. Serenity is continuously working with her to show her mankind is not so bad. Jasmin can be available for adoption, but would need a patient teacher willing to work further on her trust issues and training. Approved home only!

Bio: Jerusalem came with Callie, who has since been adopted out. He currently services as horse guardian in the field, protecting the horses from coyotes. He loves to check your pockets for treats, and will follow you around if he thinks you have any. Jerusalem would love a sponsor.
Lady

Bio: Lady came to Serenity Oct 2009. She is a sweet girl who loves attention. Due to a current condition, Lady is not available for adoption. However she would love a sponsor to aid in her recovery so that she will again be ready to find her forever home.
